What level instrument should I have?

The industry has not standardised the terms used to describe instruments and their players, which can lead to confusion. A lower quality manufacturer will produce their "Intermediate" or "Professional " flute that may be inferior to the "Student" or "entry level" flute , made by a high quality manufacturer.

Ignoring puffery and the promotional advantages of calling an instrument "Intermediate" or "Semi-professional" we group the instruments as below to simply help you make your selection.

I am interested in:                          flutes
piccolos
Harmony flutes

Higher quality instruments can be easier to play and more reliable so the best approach is
to buy the best flute you can afford.

Our role is to find you the right flute for the player, within your
          chosen budget
